Since opening in July 2003, Bedford Quasar has quickly
established itself as THE place to play and as a result, many teams now attend
on a regular basis. Established teams such as BORG and Bad Company often practice
there, but many other teams also feature. The following deserve special mention
because they play at Bedford almost every Sunday.
Check out the Bedford Quasar Forum for more about players and teams.
BORG: Trigg, Wu, Shaun, Jamie, Rob
UK and Ireland champions for many years. Some consider unbeatable, often playing at Bedford. Known for being amazingly strong as a team with great tactics. Its worth playing against them, no matter how large the minus score you get, just to see how its done.
Bad Company: Alan J, Matt, Storm, Neil, Scott
Matt and Alan own Bedford Quasar and have great devotion to the game. Matt works hard on a daily basis, ensuring all the guns are Bedford are in perfect working order (regular players have high standards but Matt always manages to meet them) and the day to day running of the site. Alan is great for his organization and without him, our Tournaments would not run anywhere near as smoothly. As a team, Matt and Alan are joined by Neil, Storm and Scott. 3 Fantastic players who make this team one of the few who can challenge BORG.
Olivers Army: Darren, Jack, Ben, Jimbo, Kerian, Marc Millard
A team of experienced players that have pulled themselves together and now enter as one unit. Often considered "Bedford A", a good team who some say could possibly have come in the top 4 if they had the correct draw. I guess we wont know until the next event.
Endangered Species: BigJim, Kate, Lorna, Mike, Sheldon, Matt Wilson
Considering they only formed 6 months ago from the remnants of AKA and Wildcards, no one can deny a rise in fame for this team. Taking a leg off Team Wales and MRS during the Feb 2004 comp, this is a team to watch...
Freeplay: Joey joe joe. Chris, Alex, Aaron, Nimel, Sam
Not a single player on this team has been playing longer than 6 months but all have had recognition for the remarkable level they have reached in such a short time. Aaron winning "Young Gun" at the November 2003 Pickem and Joey winning the lower tier 1's at the February 2004 Nationals, the team also came second in there group. Drawn against 2 teams of roughly equal experience, they proved themselves the better players.
